Incredible deal by shipowner Diamantidis: Paid 170 million for Panagopoulou's villa in Kavouri - Surprise move with Attica Group as well
Diamantidis purchased Panagopoulou's villa in Kavouri for €170 million and acquired shares in Attica Group

In a move causing a surprise in the real estate market, shipowner Diamantidis of Marmaras proceeded with a major deal.
According to reports, an agreement was reached with Panagopoulou, wife of Pericles Panagopoulos, for the purchase of her ultra-luxurious villa in Kavouri, for the sum of €170 million.
According to the same reports, this constitutes one of the most expensive residential purchases conducted in Greece in recent years.
It should be noted that Diamantidis also participates actively in Astir Vouliagmenis, while maintaining a presence across a series of real estate investment projects.

The move in Attica Group

At the same time, according to unconfirmed reports originating from Attica Group, Diamantidis is said to have acquired a significant stake of shares in Attica Holdings.
The participation of Diamantidis in Attica Group reportedly took place through two legal entities.
Attica Group owns, among others, Superfast Ferries, Blue Star Ferries, and Hellenic Seaways, while ANEK is also part of the group.
Should this information be confirmed, it represents yet another major business move by the shipowner, who in recent years has reinforced his presence in the investment sector.
It is recalled here that STRIX Holdings L.P. directly holds a 25.4% stake in Attica Group, while indirectly controlling an additional 61.3% through its subsidiary GM Capital Ltd.
In this way, participation through the two corporate vehicles acquires significant weight in Attica Group, as the total direct and indirect holding reaches 86.7%, provided both percentages pertain to the same chain of control.

With strong liquidity

Shipowner Diamantidis ranks among the most powerful Greek shipowners, with his net worth valued at exceptionally high levels and his liquidity estimated close to €2 billion.
At the same time, he remains active in the sale and purchase (S&P) shipping market, maintaining a strong presence in the maritime sector.
In fact, he has earned a reputation in the market as a reliable payer, a factor that, according to industry sources, strengthens his position in negotiations for major investment agreements.
On the other hand, it should be noted here that the Panagopoulos family has been linked to Alexis Tsipras, with relations between the two sides remaining, according to reports, particularly close.
